CASTLE HILL HISTORY
Old St Pauls Cathedral on Castle Street was originally built in 1812. The developers will sensitively transform the building into a collection of stunning new apartments, with a design that retains the original arched windows which will seamlessly blend in with the modern interior.
The name Castlehill gives reference, not surprisingly, to a Castle on the Hill from the late 13th century. It was occupied at different times by English invaders and by the Scottish governors. From the time of Bannockburn (1314) recorded evidence of the Castle disappeared. Shrouded in the mystery of time long past, Dundee Castle was a legendary place in ancient Scottish history.
